Top 5 tips for buying a used car

While you can get a great bargain by purchasing a second hand car you can also get nothing more than an old banger if you don’t take care. When it comes to purchasing a second hand car from a private dealer there are different rules than if you bought from an established dealer. One of the biggest differences are your consumer rights - or lack of them.

While there are many honest and trustworthy people out there selling used cars there are also some “dodgy” characters and of course sometimes it is hard to tell the difference. One of the best tips when buying a car from a private dealer is to pay a small fee to have a car data check carried out. This will check such things as the previous owner of the car, mileage data associated with the vehicle and if there are any problems relating to finance or insurance.

When going to look at a second hand car sold by a private buyer you should consider taking someone with you who knows about cars. If you don’t have someone who knows enough about cars and what to look for when buying second hand then it could save you money and heartache in the long run if you were to pay a mechanic to go and look over the car with you before committing yourself to purchasing it.

When buying privately make sure that you learn as much as you can about the make and model of the particular car that you are going to look over. Do an online search through used cars for the model and make sure that you have a very good idea of what that particular make and model is selling for.

When buying privately always make sure that you go and look over the car in daylight. If the seller is wary of letting you do this then it is very likely that they have something to hide. The seller should be able to answer all your questions willingly about the history of the car. If they tell you they don’t know or are unsure because they are selling the car for a friend or relative then you should stay clear and look elsewhere. They should also be able to provide you with all the necessary documentation relating to the cars history.

If you are buying from a dealer then be aware of all the added extras which they could try to entice you with and ask yourself if you really need them. Also be careful when it comes to taking any payment protection insurance associated with any car finance through them as this can boost the price up drastically of the car.

Procrastinators anonymous paa

As you probably have already guessed, I have a problem. I am seriously battling with procrastination and I think I’m doing very well so far. You see, the good news is that I am not ashamed or too afraid to admit it, and neither should you be. I bet you’re saying to yourself right now, “I don’t have a problem.” Well I am here to tell you that there is hope for you. We will overcome this, together, but the first step towards recovery is being able to admit the problem. To make it a little bit easier for you, I will go first—‘Hi, my name is Siobhan and I am a procrastinator.’ You see, that wasn’t so bad. So, are you ready to admit that you should be doing something else right now besides reading this? Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us; literally.

Wouldn’t that be something if there really was a Procrastinators Anonymous Association (PAA)? The thought sounds good, but I’m not too sure about how good of an idea it would be to actually start one. I can already foresee a few hurdles with having a PAA; for one, members may keep postponing the meetings for no apparent reason. Another thing is there would probably not be enough room to hold almost every single person in the world. Let’s face it, we all procrastinate. As a matter of fact, we are all experts at it and lucky for us it isn’t as bad as is made out to be.

As a writer, procrastination gives me a chance to think about my book while I’m doing something else in place of writing it. What better way is there to make use of all that time other than using it to contemplate new ideas, fine tune details, and get everything just right before I actually sit down to write? I once read somewhere that the biggest procrastinators tend to be very creative and intelligent. I am in no way making excuses for my procrastination; instead, learned to just appreciate and accept it.

It may sound crazy but I believe that the rest of the world also loves it when I procrastinate. Suddenly, everyone seems to get my undivided attention. My dog gets walked for a few extra minutes, phone calls get answered, and even missed calls get returned. It also seems to be the times when my stomach talks to me more than usual and the best songs come on the radio that I just can’t resist singing along to. The even crazier thing about it is I only procrastinate like this when it comes to writing. I don’t know why I do it, but it always seems to happen. I became curious and asked some other writers, artists and creative people if they experience anything similar. To my surprise, I was not alone. That is when I decided to write off my procrastinating tendencies as a trait that all writers and artistic people are just born with.

As a person who thirsts for knowledge, I did some research and found out that writers are known to procrastinate. Many well known writers are considered to be some of the biggest procrastinators. Inspiring isn’t it? If you really think about it, procrastinating can indeed be useful and necessary at times because it allows the writer to let go. Sometimes when you hold on to an idea too tight or try to force creativity, it seems to pack up and take a vacation somewhere, leaving you frustrated. But when you just let it go, it comes to you as naturally as feeling the warm sun against your skin. It’s no different than trying to remember that name that on the tip of your tongue. As long as you spend wrecking your brain trying to remember it, it never comes; but the second you stop trying and just let it go, doesn’t the name blurt out of your mouth as if you weren’t even trying to remember it in the first place? Some things are just unexplainably strange.

So now that I have admit my problem, which in essence has turned out to be not much of a problem at all, can you admit to being a procrastinator and accept the rewards and benefits that come with resourcefully killing time? I know one thing; it may have taken me 20 hours to write something that could have possibly been done in less than an hour, but who is to say that I would have came to these conclusions that fast? I want to give a special thanks to those four chocolate chip cookies that I ate, the glass of milk that helped wash it down, my supposedly housebroken dog for making “mess” on the floor, and my computer for acting up and erasing those much needed files. I am a procrastinator par excellence.

Clutter quickly grows with procrastination...and even kills

The most common problem most people have with getting rid of clutter and getting organized is not knowing how to begin or where to get started.

So it gets put off until...later.

Of course, the reasons are usually decent.

For one, there's a lot going on in our lives. We go in so many directions and there never seems to be enough time to get anything done.

And it's easier to put organizing off because you think it'll take up too much time right now.

The other priorities -- like eating and sleeping (minor things, right?) of course take first on the list.

But getting organized doesn't have to take a lot of time every single day.

And if you don't start getting organized, even just a little bit at a time, there are some very real negative affects that, well, could kill you.

A little drastic... I know.

But the affect clutter and disorganization has on your health is very, very real.

It adds stress to your already busy life.

It sucks away your energy and makes you tired.

In many people, it increases the symptoms of depression.

But enough of the negative stuff!

Here's how we can benefit from being organized and getting rid of clutter...

- More sleep.

- A better mood every day.

- Better relationships.

- Easier house management.

- Your bills get paid on time.

- More space.

- More time to do things you actually enjoy!

This is all very real stuff and getting organized should not be put on the back burner any longer.

But I know...it's still too easy to put it off for "later."

I will admit, the here and now makes it easier to pile things on the counter, on chairs and tables or toss things in closets and drawers.

It's too easy to put things down and ignore my simple and important rule of "touch it once."

Though, like I said earlier...clutter can be deadly.

No joke.

Back in January of this year a 62 year old woman from Washington was found dead under nearly six feet of dishes, boxes and "clutter" that apparantly collapsed on her.

A very sad, and very drastic story.

Take this poor woman's life back about thirty years. How many days went by when she procrastinated and said she would "get to it tomorrow."

Now I hope your situation is not as drastic but reality is reality. And unless you get things under control right away, you just don't know what a disorganized house can lead to.

At the very least I bet you're feeling stressed and a little frustrated with a real desire to simplify your life at home.

It's not a lot to ask, is it?

And we all know stress is not good.

But maybe your situation isn't so out-of-control, and you just want to get rid of clutter and get your things in order.

Or you need to manage papers better because once in a while you forget to pay a bill that was sitting somewhere in a pile (because you don't have a real system for your bills -- which you need.)

No big deal, right?

After all, what's a $5 payment here or a $35 late fee there?

It adds up.

So how 'bout you take a step towards ending clutter in your home and getting organized...before it kills you?

Breaking away by rv camping

As professional life becomes more and more demanding, and the kids are placed under even more strain at school, it becomes increasingly necessary to have a good vacation. And there is little activity more relaxing than spending a weekend or a week off with the majesty of mother nature RV camping. What is RV camping, and what is the best way to ensure you have a good time doing it? The following article tells you a bit about the best ways to take in the great outdoors with an RV.

The first thing to know about RV camping is what RV means. RV stands for recreational vehicle, which translates into plain English as pretty much anything that has wheels and is used for having fun: no matter how big, whether it is a pint sized 20 footer or a monstrous motorhome, anything that is a mobile home base for camping is an RV.

If you are considering going RV camping, you need to decide what sort of trip you want to have. Do you want a quick weekend excursion to the river, or are you looking for a month-long trek across the nation touring as much splendor as you can? Whichever type of get away you choose, there is a type of RV to suit your needs. The best way to find which one is for you is to choose a specific sort of trip you will be taking most often and do some research on it.

When you do decide to get your RV for RV Camping, have the general model in mind when you go shopping, but don't be too specific. You will want to get inside several different RVs and get a feel for the one that is right for you. Play around with all the amenities that RVs offer. Flick light switches, check cabinets. If you are not certain about which RV is best for you, consider taking one for a “test drive” by renting the model for a weekend. There is no better way to get to know how an RV works than by seeing for yourself. When you find one that suits you, both in its model and character, then you are ready for the next step: planning your trip.

When you are finally ready to pack for your RV camping trip, remember to pack appropriately. If you are going for a couple of days on the lake and really want to make use of your RV's DVD player, remember you are only staying for a couple of days: so you don't need to bring your entire video library. Remember RVs are about having fun, and over cluttering them so they become crowded makes the less recreational than in need of organizing. Nothing recalls the daily grind like having to multi-task in order to have fun.

Money management for gamblers

The purpose of this article is to educate and inform gamblers of the aspects of sports wagering. With the hopes of leading to a more profitable wagering experience for you the player. I have had the distinct pleasure of speaking with many gamblers and it seems the one area that most need help with is a money management system to implement into their sports wagering.

Let’s jump right in and begin our focus on money management. First, let us start by saying that the main reason that 99% of sports bettors lose is improper money management from the start. Even if you were to have access to winning picks – without a proper money management system, the picks are useless.

This article is not intended for those of you that are recreational bettors and like to put down a few bucks on the occasion Sunday football game to make it more exciting to watch. On the other hand if you are one of the people that treat sports wagering as an investment, please continue reading, this article was made for you!

First and foremost you need to establish your gambling bankroll. Your gambling bankroll should consist of the money you have set aside to risk on your sports betting. Your bankroll should not include money used to pay your mortgage and bills. Actually, if possible you should have a separate bank account so you can keep your gambling and living monies separate to avoid any confusion or mishaps.

Next is to decide what is your betting size is going to be. You should almost never wager more than 5% of your bankroll on any one game. Simply because in sports wagering there is no “sure thing” or “lock” as some handicappers may have you believe. There are too many variables in any game to be able to control which way the ball will bounce and if the game will end in your favor.

Your daily bets should be in the 2-4% range of your most current bankroll. We say “current bankroll” because every bettor will have some winning streaks and some losing streaks through out the course of the year. It doesn’t matter who you are, you will have some losing streaks through out the year. By keeping your daily bets in the 2-4% range of your current bankroll you will eliminate the chance to lose your entire bankroll on one losing streak.

Lastly and most importantly – for good money management plan to work you must have some self control. It may sound easy but that’s not always the case and it can be the hardest part to being a successful sports bettor. You won’t always win and you have to be able to show control in these situations or you will find yourself digging a whole you may not be able to climb out of.

The problem most gamblers have is they fail to look at sports betting as an investment when in fact it is just that. Remember that old saying “sports wagering is not a sprint, it’s a marathon”. Your results should not be measured daily or monthly. Instead, take your time, stay focused and practice self control. Sports wagering can be one of the most lucrative investments available today if you employ our suggestions outlined above and proceed with caution.

Unusual and ethnic instruments

Learning to play unusual or ethnic musical instruments creates a special aura of drama around the musical instrument, especially for children. Having an exotic edge is becoming more common these days in part due to advanced media. You no longer have to experience something for it to influence your world.

Exotic instruments are not hard to find, musical instruments of all kind are available right on the internet. All you do is place an order and something that you’ve never seen, heard, nor played before can be at your doorstep within days. For most people, having an unusual musical instrument simply isn’t enough. Most people like to learn to play the musical instruments they purchase.

Finding a competent instructor for your exotic musical instrument may also require a little time in the multi media world. In my own local phone book, I found one instructor for exotic or ethnic musical instruments. However, they had not previously heard of the instrument that I had chosen as my test piece. The exotic and unusual instruments may not have local instructors, depending of course on the area you live in.

If you opt for an unusual or ethnic musical instrument purchase, you may want to check out online classes. Online musical instruction classes for unusual or ethnic musical instruments may be run in lecture style, where you download the lesson for the week, or they may be done interactively via webcams. For adults, this is not a bad option for learning to play an unusual or ethnic musical instrument that you can’t obtain standard lessons for, but children may have great difficulty with learning this way.

One mother I know solved this problem when her son wanted to play an unusual musical instrument. She started her own lessons online, and when she was sure that she was competently able to introduce lessons to her son, she handled them personally. The final result was that each of them learned to play an unusual musical instrument, and they were a huge hit a family gathering and social events.

Unusual or ethnic musical instruments can open up a whole new world for both you and your family. Your children can become quite interested in learning about things that they never would have considered interesting before, as unusual and ethnic musical instruments typically have histories and cultures that are definitely worth learning about.

Medical malpractice defined

A patient comes to a medical professional to heal or treat an ailment. When the opposite happens, that the patient is injured or the situation worsens because of a mistake on the part of the health care provider, this is called medical malpractice.

Malpractice occurs when a doctor or a health care professional deviates from the standards which are accepted in the medical profession. It is mostly the doctor who has the final say in the procedure or treatment that a patient undergoes.

Once a medical practitioner veers away from the standard medical practice and it results to serious injuries or complications on the patient's health, this is considered malpractice.

In cases where a medical practitioner is accused of malpractice, another health care professional is asked of the procedure that is applicable in the circumstances of the patient. He should have done what is expected of a practitioner who is under the same situation.

The worst case scenario is when a patient dies inadvertently due to the mistake on the part of the doctor.

First, take a look at the mistakes which classify as medical malpractice:

1. injuries relating to birth

2. incorrect dosage and dispersal of medicine or error with prescription

3. incorrect or delayed diagnosis of an ailment

4. improper treatment

5. surgery mistakes

6. failure to refer to a medical specialist

7. health complications from anesthesiologists

8. improper procedures performed on emergency rooms

9. abuse of patients in nursing homes, children's ward and other medical institutions

10. mistakes with the general treatment of a patient

There are cases where a healthy part of the body is removed because of incorrect diagnosis. A delay in the delivery of a baby may result to more serious complications.

More specifically, malpractice occurs when the medical professional neglects to perform his or her duties on a timely and efficient manner. Just like with any other aspect in our lives, negligence would always have negative results.

In the medical profession, there should be zero tolerance for negligence because people's lives and their health are at stake.

'Medical Malpractice Laws and Cases'

The laws regarding malpractice in the United States may differ from state to state. They are changed from time to time and some laws may apply only to particular circumstances.

If you have a relative or a friend who may have suffered or died due to medical malpractice, then you may consult a lawyer in your state who specializes in such cases. Make sure that the lawyer that you will consult has an extensive experience in this field so that you will have the best legal support possible. You may also review past medical malpractice cases to learn more about

this.

If you have a medical malpractice case, it would be difficult to immediately recognize whether you have a good or bad case against the health care professional.

Just like in criminal or corporate law, each case is unique and has its own downsides and merits. Your lawyer may need to work through all the details about the case.

Most of these cases are dragging and consumes a lot of your time and expenses. Talk with your lawyer before deciding to file a case. Most legal practitioners would first consider t he financial and legal merits of your case before they formally proceed to court.

Medical malpractice is a growing problem in the United States. When filing a medical malpractice lawsuit, make sure that you have a lawyer on your side who will adequately defend your rights.
