You ve various reasons to buy steroids

You have a number of reasons to buy steroids. You can buy steroids, if there is not enough testosterone secreted in your body; you can buy steroids, if you are growing old; you can buy steroids, if you are experiencing any of the disorders dew to low production of testosterone in your body; and you can buy steroids, if you are suffering from any chronic wasting disease, such as cancer or AIDS.

Steroids are synthetic drugs derived from testosterone, a potent androgenic hormone produced chiefly by male testes, responsible for the development of male secondary sex characteristics. These drugs have wonderful anabolic and androgenic qualities that help boosting up the growth in body, but these drugs are widely abused, and their abuse usually has serious side effects and dangerous consequences.

Medically, steroids are used to treat the disorders associated with the abnormally low production of testosterone, such as delayed puberty and some types of impotence. Steroids are often prescribed to treat body wasting in patients with AIDS and other diseases that result in loss of lean muscle mass.

Anabolic androgenic steroids are a class of natural and synthetic steroid hormones that promote cell growth and division, resulting in growth of several types of tissues, especially muscle and bone. Often, anabolic steroids are used to help people recover from injuries; such use of anabolic steroids is very common in athletes and sports persons.

Anabolic steroids help you live health life when you grow old. Studies after studies have proved that steroids are very beneficial when they are taken in old age. According to Dr. Alan Mintz, the founder of the Las Vegas-based Cenegenics Medical Institute, steroids are excellent medicines. These medicines give you the power to have a healthy life in your later years. There's a tremendous benefit, if you buy steroids legally and use them in the right way.

Hence, you can buy steroids to treat any of the above mentioned conditions. Whenever you buy steroids, you must make sure that you are buying legal and real steroids. You should buy steroids from genuine drug dealers. You can also buy steroids online. There are numerous sites selling steroids online, but you must find a genuine and reliable site to buy steroids online.

Phobia the fear within

A phobia is a clinical term that is used to describe an irrational and persistent fear of certain objects, situations, activities, or persons. These fears are beyond one's control and may interfere with one's daily activities. Phobias belong to a large group of mental problems known as anxiety disorders, other conditions included in this group are obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and post traumatic stress disorder. There are many forms of phobias, and they can be a fear of something specific such as flying or social fears that may cause certain individuals to feel anxious in social situations. Other examples of this disorder may involve fear of small animals, closed spaces, and snakes. It usually begins at home and persists into adulthood. Some of these conditions if not treated may hamper a person's development.

Health researchers believe that common forms of phobias may include the following:

Arachnophobia—the fear of spiders.

Ophidiophobia—the fear of snakes

Acrophobia—the fear of heights

Agoraphobia—the fear if circumstances in which escape is difficult. It may include crowded areas or open spaces.

Cynophobia—the fear of dogs

Astraphobia—the fear of thunder and lightning

Trypanophobia—the fear of injections

Social phobias—the fear of social situations

Pteromerhanophobia—the fear of flying

Mysophobia—the fear of germs or dirt

The causes of phobias are not yet determined by health experts, but research suggests that the occurrence of this condition can be a complex interaction of the genes and the environment. Some suggest that it is caused by an early traumatic event like a bite of a dog, being trapped in a closed space, or being humiliated in public. Hypersensitive individuals may respond differently to stress because of unique chemical reaction in the brain. These people may also be sensitive to caffeine because this substance triggers certain brain chemical responses.

Symptoms of phobias may include the following:

Fear of specific objects, situations, or activities.

Often feel stressed or have a panic attack when near the object, activity, or situation.

Avoidance of the object, situation, or activity is often done.

Fear and stress often hinders normal activities like studying or working.

Treatment for phobias may differ from one person to another. In fact, this condition is considered as one of the most treatable mental health problems. Most treated patients may continue to live normal lives. Individuals who have a certain phobia that is easy to avoid and does not hamper their daily activities may not require professional help. However when this condition interferes with a person's activities or daily routine, health specialists would normally encourage the phobic person to undergo a combination of psychotherapy and medication. Antidepressants may also reduce fear and panic and are proven to be effective in many cases. Anti-anxiety drugs may also help but patients may develop dependence on these medications.

A supportive relationship with a health professional, family members, and friends is essential in treating phobias. In many types of phobias, some symptoms might be relieved by taking a healthy diet and including physical activities in one's lifestyle. Eliminating caffeine, cutting down on alcohol, having regular exercise, and reducing stress are essential in relieving symptoms of certain phobias.

The quality of hospital food

In this article I write about the quality, or lack of it, in the food that is served in some of the UK hospitals. My nan has recently died in hospital which has been very upsetting for my family. She was hit by one of the famous hospital bugs and became very weak. She was in need of some decent food which would have helped to build up her strength. What she received was basically so poor and tasteless that she found it hard to eat.

Despite many attempts by various members of the family to pursuade her to eat more, she could not stomach it and kept saying that it the food had no taste and that it was disgusting. I have to admit that it was not exactly tempting when I saw what was being dished out.

In the UK we are very lucky in the standard of our hospitals when you compare it to many other countries in the world. Our country is very rich but a lot of this cash is being wasted on certain projects. Surely people in our hospitals deserve a much higher standard of food, food which they can look forward to eat.

I have recently watched a program about how Jamie Oliver is trying to improve the standard of food in schools throughout the UK. This is a very worthwhile project and as a father of two children myself, I am more than aware that the canteen food served in most schools is not up to scratch. At the schools where my own children attend, the parents have the option of paying for these meals or they can make their child a packed lunch. We choose the packed lunch option.

In hospitals there is no such option. I would have loved to have been able to cook some food for my nan, which I could then have taken to her when I visited. I would have also liked to have taken some cleaning products as the place could have done with some tender loving care as well as a lick of paint.

A message to Jamie Oliver, you are doing a sterling job but please could you turn your attention to the hospitals next!

A message to Tony Blair, stop wasting money killing our troops in Iraq and start looking after your own!

I am not trying to say that my nan would have survived if the standard of food had been better in the hospital where she spent her final days. What I am trying to say is that I hope it improves in a big way before I have to spend any time there.

Your trusty toothy friend

Whether we like it or not, we all know that an important part of our dental care involves making regular trips to the dentist, but the foundation block of oral hygiene lies at home. Not only is brushing and flossing twice a day of the utmost importance in maintaining a healthy and attractive smile, but the tools we use to perform these daily rituals can also make or break a beautiful set of teeth. So don’t pick up any old toothbrush – find the one that’s right for you.

Our mouths, just like every other inch of us, come in all shapes and makes. We probably wouldn’t think too long about trying to squeeze into a shoe that doesn’t fit, but many of us expect that one size toothbrush should fit all. Baffled by the array of dental products we face in the store, we simply pick the color toothbrush we like best and move along, unwittingly undermining our oral health as we do so.

It is firstly important to find the right size toothbrush for our mouth, so that we can brush with comfort and reach the surface of every tooth. A tooth doesn’t get cleaned by just being in the vicinity of a brush! Be sure to find a toothbrush with the size and shape head that allows you to reach every surface of every single tooth.

Another important toothbrush quality is the type of bristles it utilizes. Bristles that are too hard can actually damage teeth and wear down the enamel that covers them, so be sure to opt for a softer type of brush, especially if you have a gum condition, such as gum disease or receding gums. For a good brushing down, look for a toothbrush with nylon bristles with rounded tips.

It is also of the utmost importance that you use a toothbrush that is up to the job, so be sure to replace your brush regularly. Every two to three months is a good time to replace, or when the bristles start to look bent and worn. Some toothbrushes some complete with a color-fade system that tells you exactly when your brush is ready for the garbage – simply ditch the brush when the colored bristles start to fade.

A healthy set of teeth is an important part of looking and feeling good, and your trusty toothbrush is an important tool to help you maintain your oral health. So treat your teeth well with the right toothbrush, and don’t be afraid to show your smile.

When the cardiologist says you have heart disease -- part-1

It all started innocently enough. I went to my primary care physician complaining of dizziness and a pain in my back. A quick ECG or electrocardiogram revealed a very fine and operational heart muscle. Still, being at an age where heart disease is considered a possibility and having several increased risk factors, my doctor decided that a trip to see the cardiologist was in order.

After all I thought, how could there be a problem with my heart? I just carried several 50 pound boxes down three flights of stairs only a couple of weeks ago. Still, I thought it better to at least get a baseline so we could measure any change as I got older. And the fact that the dizziness didn't go away was still troubling.

The next test was a treadmill or stress test. Because of the dizziness and nausea however, the heart diagnostic group decided that a chemical stress test was in order. They inserted an IV and took pictures of my heart muscle before being stressed. The idea is that they could then place my heart under some strain and see the reaction. Kind of like a before and after type set of pictures. I could give you the medical names of the test and drugs but I'm not a doctor and prefer to offer the description from the patient point of view. So after the initial set of pictures, the technicians inserted chemicals into my body through the IV to chemically "stress" my heart while carefully monitoring my status. A short wait and yet another set of pictures.

In about a week, they called with the results. Instead of saying it straight however, I was told only that the tests results showed there may be a problem and to schedule an appointment with the cardiologist immediately. Now I don't like the sound of immediately so it must have been critical or more important that just seeing "something."

After talking with the doctor, it was decided that another battery of non invasive tests were in order. This time, it was a modified like CT scan. They were looking for verification of calcium deposits in my arteries.

This test agreed with the stress test results and showed calcification of the arteries, or arteriosclerosis. From all the tests, it appeared as if I had some problem developing but how serious was still an issue. There was however a blood test for calcium that indicated a level higher than 90% of the people my age. That did it! The doctor now wanted and almost demanded to go see what was going on.

An angiogram was in my immediate future. An angiogram typically is an outpatient procedure where the cardiologist opens an artery in your leg and works a camera into the heart muscle arteries. It sounds a lot worse than it is but the benefit is that you know exactly what the status of your heart and arteries are at that point in time.

What the heck is the goof troupe

Simply put, the Goof Troupe is an organization that teaches people to lose weight and improve their health while still enjoying the “finer” things in life. You know, like pasta, red meat, dessert, frappuccinos, alcohol, etc.

You see, the single biggest problem with most weight loss or health improvement programs is that they are NO FUN! They require you to live by some very strict code of “do this, don’t do that”. If you happen to step outside the boundaries of the program, your progress and your state of mind take a painful hit, and you end up right back at square one. Does that sound familiar?

The miraculous method by which Goof Troupe members are able to still enjoy the “taboo” items like those listed above is due to 4 things:

1) Structure

2) Support

3) A reasonable amount of physical activity.

4) Proper portion control, nutrient intake, and vitamin/mineral intake.

I know, I know – it sounds too easy, right? Well, it is both easy as well as effective, and you can start taking advantage of this program right now!

People who get a reasonable amount of activity, control their portion sizes, and get the appropriate intake of vitamins and minerals are healthy, they don’t carry around a bunch of excess bodyfat, and they can jump “off the wagon” on a regular basis because they do the right thing the rest of the time.

Also, no one wants to be healthy by themselves. Even the most confident and self-motivated people still have the basic human need for positive reinforcement, and a helping hand to keep them on the path to success.

Having structure in a health program is just as important as having support. If you had 100 people who were willing to bend over backwards to support the needs of the other group members, but those 100 people didn’t have a clue what they were doing, then that group would be on the fast track to failure wouldn’t they?

In getting back to the question of ‘What is the Goof Troupe’, we answer with this:

The Goof Troupe is a social group whose members work together to be healthy most of the time, so they can enjoy being UNHEALTHY the rest of the time!

A Goof Troupe can contain any number of people, but a typical social group will include at least 3 or 4 people, and as many as 10 or more. The group meets once each week so that all members can take advantage of the group support, tips, and instruction, and those meetings are typically followed up by going out and having fun!

All Goof Troupe members utilize the same basic concepts of portion control, healthy eating, and physical activity as outlined in the Goof Troupe lifestyle improvement system, the Tahiti Trim Plan 40 program. The TTP40 program ensures that all members are not only eating the proper portion sizes, but eating often enough as well. 9 out of 10 people who are overweight actually do not eat ENOUGH.

The TTP40 program also contains all of the vitamin/mineral supplements that are needed by all people, and it outlines a program of physical activity that ensures that all Goof Troupe members are using more calories than they are taking in. That equates to weight loss, by the way!

In addition to the weekly meetings, most Goof Troupe members will see each other much more often than that. The Goof Troupes are as much social clubs as they are a lifestyle management program, and members are encouraged to engage in support, social, and health-related activities as often as they like.

The Goof Troupe concept is a starting point – a “guideline” for you ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ fans! The Tahiti Trim Plan 40 program and the Goof Troupe weekly meetings provide the structure, support, and information that allow all members to lose weight, be healthy, and most importantly – to have FUN!

In addition, the Goof Troupe founders are able to get all Goof Troupe members and leaders a discounted price on the Tahiti Trim Plan 40 products, which means that the program is less expensive than ANY comparable program on the market. Also, people who start Goof Troupes in their areas can get their own products for free, or even make some Fun Money that they can use to enjoy their new found level of health or weight loss!

Seven things about laser hair removal

FDA approved since 1995, Laser Hair Removal has improved the quality of life of thousands, especially female with male pattern hair growth. Removal of unwanted hair by laser is a major advance over treatment such as electrolysis. It has brought hope to several individuals with hair growth in areas where they cause embarrassment. There are certain things you should know about this form of treatment. Some are listed below.

1. What is Laser Hair Removal? It is a laser beam targeted at the hair follicle. The high intensity ray of light gives off heat energy. The laser tracts along the hair shaft, heating it and leading to thermal damage to the follicle while leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed. The effectiveness of this treatment depends on the concentration of melanin in the hair. It is more effective in dark hair, less effective in brown or ginger hair and will not work on white, grey or platinum blonde hair. As the laser travels along the hair shaft, there must be hair present. It is, therefore, not recommended to pluck unwanted hair before treatment. Similarly since laser hair removal works on the melanin level, dark skin or tanned skin need special treatment.

2. Cost depends on the size of the area that needs treatment. The larger the area, the greater the cost. In the USA, the average cost per session is $450 and in the UK, the cost may vary from Ј45 to Ј450. Treatment may be for several sessions in a year because hair will re-grow. The re-growth, however, will be slower and the hair thinner. Mr. David Gault, Plastic Surgeon, reported 80% reduction of upper lip hair growth after 6 months.

3. What you should find out: Make sure you know as much as you can about Laser Hair Removal. Choose a clinic that offers free consultation so that you can assess suitability and what is on offer. Find out before hand how much it will cost you. Make sure you know whether a medical practitioner will be on the premises during your treatment. Check that your assigned therapist is suitably qualified and experienced.

4. How safe: Laser is a pure high beam light. It does not cause cancer. It only penetrates up to the dermis of the skin. It is dangerous to the eyesight. You will probably use goggles to protect your eyes during treatment. The skin can be darkened by laser because of the melanin concentration. Too much exposure can leave the skin with paler patches that slowly fades away. Over heating can cause blistering and rarely scarring especially in darker skin and people with recent tans. The paler you are before treatment the safer and better the treatment.

You should not have laser hair removal if you are sensitive to light or have any infection on the area to be treated. You should not have treatment if you had isotretinoin as acne treatment in the last year.

5. Is Hair removal permanent? Laser hair removal and electrolysis are considered the only permanent hair removal treatment. Although laser hair treatment is promoted as permanent by the industry, this is not strictly the case. It cannot stop the unwanted hair from re-growing. It will, however, slow the re-growth so that it can take several months or years. The re-growth will consist of thinner hair.

6. What happens during treatment? Depending on the types of laser beam system and the area to be treated, you may be required to wear goggles. Laser hair removal treatment can cause stinging or the area may tingle. The time taken for a session depends on the size of the area and can last between 15 and 45 minutes. The area concerned will be treated approximately once a month for between two and eight months. Not all lasers are the same and results may vary with different systems. Before you embark on Laser hair removal, make sure you do your homework.

7. What types of Laser Hair Removal are available? There are various types available. The Ruby Laser is the oldest. It is not suitable for dark skinned or tanned people and only covers a small area. The Alexandrite Laser is the fastest laser available. It is used on light to olive complexion. It is the most popular type because it can cover large areas of the body. The Diode Laser works better for dark skin and is not as effective in lighter skin. It is fast and covers large areas during treatment. The Long Pulse Nd:Yag Laser can be used on all skin types. It is fast and covers large areas. Patients, however, tend to experience more discomfort during treatment. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is not really Laser but will have the same effect as laser on the hair follicles. It is more difficult to use and needs greater skill.

Medical malpractice defined

A patient comes to a medical professional to heal or treat an ailment. When the opposite happens, that the patient is injured or the situation worsens because of a mistake on the part of the health care provider, this is called medical malpractice.

Malpractice occurs when a doctor or a health care professional deviates from the standards which are accepted in the medical profession. It is mostly the doctor who has the final say in the procedure or treatment that a patient undergoes.

Once a medical practitioner veers away from the standard medical practice and it results to serious injuries or complications on the patient's health, this is considered malpractice.

In cases where a medical practitioner is accused of malpractice, another health care professional is asked of the procedure that is applicable in the circumstances of the patient. He should have done what is expected of a practitioner who is under the same situation.

The worst case scenario is when a patient dies inadvertently due to the mistake on the part of the doctor.

First, take a look at the mistakes which classify as medical malpractice:

1. injuries relating to birth

2. incorrect dosage and dispersal of medicine or error with prescription

3. incorrect or delayed diagnosis of an ailment

4. improper treatment

5. surgery mistakes

6. failure to refer to a medical specialist

7. health complications from anesthesiologists

8. improper procedures performed on emergency rooms

9. abuse of patients in nursing homes, children's ward and other medical institutions

10. mistakes with the general treatment of a patient

There are cases where a healthy part of the body is removed because of incorrect diagnosis. A delay in the delivery of a baby may result to more serious complications.

More specifically, malpractice occurs when the medical professional neglects to perform his or her duties on a timely and efficient manner. Just like with any other aspect in our lives, negligence would always have negative results.

In the medical profession, there should be zero tolerance for negligence because people's lives and their health are at stake.

'Medical Malpractice Laws and Cases'

The laws regarding malpractice in the United States may differ from state to state. They are changed from time to time and some laws may apply only to particular circumstances.

If you have a relative or a friend who may have suffered or died due to medical malpractice, then you may consult a lawyer in your state who specializes in such cases. Make sure that the lawyer that you will consult has an extensive experience in this field so that you will have the best legal support possible. You may also review past medical malpractice cases to learn more about

this.

If you have a medical malpractice case, it would be difficult to immediately recognize whether you have a good or bad case against the health care professional.

Just like in criminal or corporate law, each case is unique and has its own downsides and merits. Your lawyer may need to work through all the details about the case.

Most of these cases are dragging and consumes a lot of your time and expenses. Talk with your lawyer before deciding to file a case. Most legal practitioners would first consider t he financial and legal merits of your case before they formally proceed to court.

Medical malpractice is a growing problem in the United States. When filing a medical malpractice lawsuit, make sure that you have a lawyer on your side who will adequately defend your rights.

Martial arts philosophy and proper training

Martial arts are systems of offensive and defensive combat movements which includes proper punching, kicking, blocking, and other combative skills. Many people often associate martial arts to violence and brutality. Even though this form of art was developed for self defense, this craft is just about throwing punches or performing high kicks. Martial arts are seen as expressions of valor, chivalry, and self-sacrifice. It is a philosophy which stresses that people should live in peace and harmony. Martial arts philosophy emphasizes on the essence of self-control, respect for others, and positive perspective to strive for the best in life. Martial arts are part of an Eastern tradition that gives emphasis on the fortification of the mind, body, and spirit. Its teachings emphasize that a true martial artist must become physically, mentally, and emotionally strong enough to avoid fighting. The many forms of martial arts include Karate, Kung-Fu, Muay Thai, Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Yaw-Yan, and Jiu Jitsu.

Martial arts include high-energy training that can improve strength, speed, flexibility, and cardiovascular health. However, just like other sports or physical activities, there are injuries that can be encountered in martial arts training or competition. Quite surprisingly, the risk of injury from martial arts is lower compared to other contact sports. A research conducted at George Washington University in the United States concluded that the injury rate in martial arts training is lower than other contact sports like rugby, American football, basketball, and hockey. Most injuries associated with martial arts are aching limbs and lower back pain, which are usually mild to moderate injuries.

Common injuries in martial arts may include:

· Skin damage -- such as cuts and bruises.

· Sprains -- Many sprains occur in the ankles, elbows, and other joint areas. Many ankle sprains develop because of improper weight distribution while kicking.

· Strains -- injury to the muscle or tendon. Some muscles may tear from rapid stops that occurs when forceful contact is made with an opponent or object.

· Knee pain injuries -- caused by the bent-knee stance typical of most martial arts and the use of forceful kicks that can injure the joint if not done properly.

· Head injuries – head injuries can occur during training or competition because of heavy impacts of kicks and punches in the head area. Wearing high quality helmet and mouth guards is advised among martial artists

· Dislocations and fractures -- particularly of the hand, finger, foot and toe.

· Overuse injuries -- any part of the body can be injured by sheer repetition of movement.

Martial arts training involve strenuous movements that may put high stress on muscles and joints. To avoid injuries, it is very important to give special attention to stretching. Stretching regularly helps maintain or increase flexibility and lower the risk of injuries. In addition to stretching, martial arts training should also include exercises meant to improve overall conditioning and muscle training before undertaking any comprehensive martial arts training. By strengthening the muscles, joints, and coordination, athletes will be able to make martial arts training safer and more injury-free. Breathing techniques are also important as part of the practice of martial arts. Exhaling while contracting muscles and inhaling while resting the muscles may help prevent injuries.

By warming-up properly, breathing extensively, and wearing necessary equipment, martial artists and athletes can avoid injuries that may hamper the progress of their training and level of competitiveness.

Spring cleaning reducing air pollutants and dust mites

:
If you’re one of America’s 40 million allergy sufferers, you probably already clean everyday to minimize allergens. Even with daily cleaning, however, allergens can be lurking in your home. To eliminate deep, ground-in dust and mold, perform thorough cleaning two or three times each year. Spring has been long hailed as the perfect time for refreshing a home after a long winter indoors. For allergy sufferers, spring cleaning is a perfect time to address some of the major pollutants that cause asthma and other problems.

Intensive cleaning is often torturous for allergy sufferers, as vigorous cleaning sends a year’s collection of irritants flying into the air. Before beginning spring cleaning, make sure to consider the following:

Wear a face mask to reduce your exposure to molds, dust mites, and other allergens that will be disturbed as you clean.

Use a microfiber or damp cloth for dusting. Avoid feather-dusters, which only whisk dust and dirt into the air, and, in turn, into your tender nose.

Complete your deep clean early. Those who are allergic to pollen should begin cleaning before pollination begins. Despite potentially chilly spring weather, open as many windows as you can. This will facilitate thorough ventilation.

Use a HEPA filter on your vacuum and change it as recommended. Unlike traditional vacuum filters, HEPA filters can trap very fine particles, like pollen and dust mite feces, which often cause allergy attacks.

Once you’ve gathered the right materials, focus on the places where allergens love to hide - mattresses, upholstered furniture, and woodwork.

Do You Feel Lucky, Dust Mite?

Dust mites are your home’s smallest scavengers. These microscopic creatures prefer warm environments like mattresses and furniture, where they can gobble up a constant supply of their favorite food, dead skin cells. Fido and Fluffy shed skin as well, so if you have a pet, your local dust mite population is probably booming. Dust mites often trigger asthma attacks. Dr Janet Rimmer, director of the National Asthma Council of Australia, reported that approximately 45 percent of the world’s population has some sort of allergy, and nearly 80 percent of those allergy sufferers react to dust mites.

In case you need more motivation to do some thorough spring cleaning, here’s a shocking statistic. It’s estimated that dead mites and their droppings comprise 10% of the weight of a two-year old pillow. Do yourself and your family a favor and at least once a year, wipe out the population of mites in your mattress. Here’s how:

1. If you have a mattress pad, wash it in hot water frequently; doing so every 2 months is standard for intense allergy sufferers. Even better, if you don’t yet own one, consider purchasing a microfiber, hypoallergenic pad, which will prevent mites from slipping into your mattress in the first place.

2. Using your vacuum’s wand attachment or upholstery tool, carefully vacuum the entire surface of your mattress, paying extra attention to indentations or buttons.

3. Flip and rotate your mattress regularly. This reduces the food supply for dust mites, keeping their population in check.

Upend Upholstered Furniture Breeding Grounds

Dust mites can also lurk in upholstery. Fortunately, simple vacuuming with an attachment wand removes the top layer of dead-skin feeding the mites. To begin, remove all of the cushions and shove the attachment wand into the creases and folds where you would have searched for quarters as a kid. Additionally, consider using a spray-on allergen minimizer, such as Febreze’s Fabric Refresher Allergen Reducer. According to the Asthma/Allergen Foundation of America, allergen reducers like these are appropriate for use on fabrics, furniture, bedding, and clothing. They help keep air-born particles from getting into the air in your home.

Bathroom Battles

In addition to routine cleaning tasks, such as cleaning the tub and sinks, use your spring cleaning time to take down and dust light fixtures and dust vents. Most of a home’s mold resides in the bathroom. Clean your shower curtain, or purchase a new one if mold and mildew have become hopelessly embedded. Take the time to also make sure that the ventilation system is working properly.

Master the Mold in your Woodwork

You’re probably already deep cleaning your home’s drapes and blinds at least once a year to reduce allergens. But what about doorjambs and other woodwork? A spring cleaning is the perfect time to flush out areas where allergen-causing molds love to hide. Mold does not just exist in poorly ventilated bathrooms. It can also be found on windowsills and doorjambs where moisture can be a problem during parts of the year. Cleaning these areas with a bleach-based product can help to eliminate allergy causing mold.

After you have dusted, vacuumed and washed the last room in your house this spring, making sure to take all of the trash outside, wash all of your microfiber clothes and other cleaning items thoroughly. This will help ensure that your spring cleaning efforts take hold and stay that way for a longer period of time.

Women s health advice discover anti aging vitamins

Women age as their body cells die and when new healthy cell generation is hindered simultaneously. Premature aging can result from inadequate nutrition caused by years of poor dietary habits. Why? Because our bodies need certain amounts of vitamins to produce healthy cells and repair damaged cells. For many women, healthy cells can promote anti aging more than anything else

Free Radicals: Enemies to Your Anti Aging Efforts

When your diet lacks the vitamins needed for healthy cell rejuvenation, it will produce high amounts of free radicals, or highly reactive oxygen molecules. Free radicals will attack your healthy cells, thus, accelerating the aging process. Foods high in fat content, pesticides and ultraviolet radiation exposure can also contribute to free radical production and hinder your anti aging efforts.

Vitamins for Anti Aging

Vitamins have been a source of good women's health for years, but new discoveries through the cutting edge science in genomics reveal that certain amounts of vitamins are needed to promote healthy cell rejuvenation and anti aging. Let's look at some of the anti-aging vitamins below.

Antioxidants

Some of the vitamins found in many berries such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, cherries and grapes are natural antioxidants that help rid your body of harmful toxins that can hinder your anti-aging efforts. Green tea is also a good source of natural antioxidants. Toxins are introduced to the body every day in the foods you eat and pollutants in the air. Though you cannot feel anything, toxins are well at work to destroy good, healthy cells and speed up your aging process!

Vitamin B3

Vitamin B3, or niacin, helps the body to convert calories from fat, protein and carbohydrates into energy. It aids in digestive functions as well as promotes healthy nerves and skin. This vitamin can be found in peanuts, yeast, eggs, meat, poultry and fish. It's also one of the key ingredients for anti-aging supplements.

Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6, or pyridoxine, aids in brain function and the conversion of protein into energy. It can be found in pork, fish, poultry, eggs, soybeans, whole grains, bananas, nuts and seeds, and oats.

Vitamin Blends

There are also anti-aging products with vitamin blends that combine a number of cell-promoting vitamins into one ingredient. These vitamins are carefully measured to give you just the right amount for proper cell rejuvenation. Thanks to cutting edge science in genomics, companies are now able to include just the right balance of vitamins for each cycle of life.

Reduce Dairy Product Intake

Dairy products such as milk and cheese contain Casein, which is a common food allergen that depletes immune cells. Replace some of your dairy products with other calcium-rich foods such as soy, juice, rice, salmon, sardines, broccoli, and collard greens.

Other vitamins that promote anti aging and healthy cells include Vitamin E, Selenium, Vitamin K and Vitamin C.

As you can see, vitamins are essential for skin beauty, strong bones and joints, and healthy cell generation. With all the new anti aging products, it's easier than ever to get all the vitamins you need.

Easing labor pains and childbirth

The drama of childbirth has been immortalized in media through scenes full of mixed emotions where the mother experiences labor pains as each contraction brings the child closer and closer to a new world outside the womb. Like those movie scenes, many women go through a difficult pregnancy which makes childbirth a complicated procedure.

Each pregnant woman's labor pains is unique. No one can really tell what triggers it but knowing labor symptoms will help you understand what is to be expected. Having more information about giving birth will help the mother to better prepare herself psychologically and physically. Here are some important phrases and terminology related to labor and childbirth that every woman should know:

· Lightening – when the baby settles deeper into the pelvis

· Effacement - softening and thinning of cervix

· Dilation - opening of the cervix

· Vaginal spotting – losing of mucus plug with bloody discharge

· Nesting – energetic urge to clean and organize baby's things

· Membrane rupture – amniotic sac leaks or breaks before labor

· Contractions - a sensation that your uterus is tightening and relaxing

Signs and symptoms are the woman's body's preparation for labor. But there is no clear-cut boundary between the body's preparation and the actual labor process. Some women may have painful contractions for days without cervical changes while others feel only a little pressure or a back ache as the cervix gradually dilates.

Pre-term labor may be difficult to detect. Any signs or symptoms of labor before 36 weeks, especially if they're accompanied by vaginal spotting, needs consultation with a physician. At term, labor will nearly always make itself apparent. However, if you arrive at the hospital in false labor, don't feel embarrassed or frustrated. Just think of it as a practice run for the real thing is definitely on its way.

Most women consider relaxation exercises, breathing techniques or medication to manage the pains of labor. Some women want to give birth without the aid of drugs and consider complementary and alternative medicine to help them through the labor pain and delivery. Still, there are other choices which are non-traditional methods such as hypnosis, acupuncture, and reflexology.

Hypnosis is considered to be a focused state of concentration that allows the body to relax and helps guide one's thoughts and control breathing. Hypnosis will not stop the pain of contractions but it will condition your mind to help you ride the wave of each contraction and trust in your body's ability to give birth.

Learning self-hypnosis techniques, such as repeating positive statements to yourself, concentrating on vivid imagery or listening to a recording of verbal affirmations, may be acquired through private lessons or specialized childbirth classes.

Acupuncture is an ancient chinese practice based on the theory that energy flows through the body in channels known as meridians. Stimulating specific areas close to the skin, also known as acupuncture points, with hair-thin needles is thought to correct imbalances or disruptions in this energy flow. There's a possibility that it may help treat nausea and vomiting of pregnant women as well as reducing labor pains depending on how the labor is progressing and the type of pain being experienced.

The practice of reflexology can be traced back to Egypt, China and India thousands of years ago. This method applies pressure to specific parts of the body, usually the soles of the feet, for an intended therapeutic effect on other parts of the body. Though scientists haven't found evidence to support the theories of reflexology, some women find it helpful in relieving muscle tension and promoting relaxation during pregnancy.

It is said that applying pressure or strokes to specific points on the feet during labor somehow stimulates the pituitary gland to release hormones that speed labor and reduce pain.

Hypnosis, acupuncture, and reflexology may be promising methods to relieve pain during labor and delivery, but there is little scientific evidence to prove the effectiveness of these approaches and more research is needed to determine whether these techniques can actually relieve labor pains and provide relief in childbirth.

Working with professional health care provider may help if any of these methods can be right for you. Combining complementary treatments with other methods of pain relief and medication should always be consulted with your doctor.

Bodyweight issues is society to blame

In modern society people are more concerned with their body weight than ever before. But is it any wonder why we have these concerns?

We have more processed and fast foods available to us than ever before. In this modern era everything needs to be convenient, and that includes our meals. More and more people turn to ready meals, pre prepared foods and fast foods rather than what we used to do many years ago, cook a meal using fresh ingredients. Obviously manufacturers are cashing in on this trend and giving us more choice than ever of convenience meals. These meals are full of fat and useless calories and play a large part in the overall scheme of obesity.

Another factor is beauty magazines and waif like celebrities. Woman (and men) find themselves under extreme pressure to conform to the standard that we see in the glossy pages of magazines. Eating disorders are more prevalent than ever before in the developed countries. Anorexia and Bulimia are the most prevalent eating disorders in teenaged and young adult females.

Also having an impact on our weight is the advancement in technology, cars, public transport and maybe not as obvious – the internet. With the age of the internet more and more people are working from home so some lifestyles are even more sedentary nowadays as some workers do not even have to leave their house to conduct their working day, it can all be done in the comfort of their own home.

So all in all the odds are stacked against us, the only way to overcome bodyweight issues is to take matters into your own hands. Take more time to prepare meals with fresh produce, remember that the models in glossy magazines have been airbrushed to within an inch of their lives, and of course take some time out to get some exercise.

Colon cleanse - the colon and colon cleansing

:
Before delving into what colon cleanse is, is it not wiser to get an idea of what your colon does? That way, you will better understand why getting your colon cleansed is immensely important. In this article, we will be discussing the Colon’s role in the digestive function of the intestinal tract. Colon cleansing and its benefits will also be discussed.

What is the Colon and where is it Located?

The colon is perhaps better known as your large intestines. It basically starts at the junction between your appendix and small intestines and ends up in the opening of your anus. The colon is about 1 to 2 meters in length and is subdivided into Ascending Colon, Transverse Colon and the Descending colon. The names would be better understood by a discussing of how the colon lies in your body. Basically the colon forms and inverted letter ‘U’, the ascending portion of it starts at the appendix and ends when the colon starts to bend. The Transverse part of the colon lies horizontally – near where your liver and stomach are located. The descending portion starts out at the bend 2nd bend of the transverse colon and goes down up to the anus.

What is the function of the Colon?

Most of the digestion and absorption occurs in the stomach and small intestines. That is the reason why when the food reaches the colon, it is basically composed of water and waste. Therefore the main function of the colon is for moving the waste for removal and also to reabsorb some excess water. The fecal matter starts out soft and watery in the ascending portion, it starts to harden slightly when it reaches the transverse portion and after further re-absorption of water, it is then extruded from the body by defecating.

What is Colon Cleansing?

A Colon Cleanse or colon cleansing is the process of sweeping out any excess waste that may be present in any segment of the large intestines. It may also include cleaning out the small intestines - but that depends on the product type. You can achieve colon cleansing by using commercial available products that help take out the plaque and the excess debris that can be found in your colon’s walls. Colon Cleansing is considered to be very helpful in alleviating a lot of diseases and it has even been said to prevent the development of cancer.

Is Colon Cleansing For You?

It really depends on what you want. A lot of experts would tell you the undergoing the process would be the best for your body – and they are not kidding. They are of course basing their statements on the many positive results that have come out of satisfied individuals who have had their colons cleansed. These people walked away from the treatment feeling better and experiencing less of the symptoms that they did before.

So, there you have it: a look into what the colon is and what it does. If you feel like you need to have a colon cleansing procedure done, by all means do it. Just make sure that you are doing it safely. Consult a physician and review your product of choice thoroughly before going through with it.

Are you in bed with 8 legged freaks

They are tiny. They are dirty. There are probably thousands if not millions of them in bed with you every night!! They are called dust mites and if you suffer from asthma or allergies, they make your symptoms even worse. So whether you have an adjustable bed or a regular bed, these little critters are nothing but a nuisance.

Dust mites make their home in mattresses, pillows, blankets, quilts, carpets and fabric covered furniture, thrive in the summer and usually die in the winter. They may continue to thrive in the winter if your house is warm and humid.

The bedroom is an area that has an environment that the dust mite loves. An adjustable bed, or any bed for that matter, can contain hundreds of thousands of them and an old pillow can have 20% of its own weight made up of dust mites, dead and alive, and dust mite droppings. But mainly their droppings. Kind of makes you look at your bed a little differently tonight.

Why do they love to get in bed with us ? Because most animals, including humans shed skin flakes every year. We all naturally lose skin, head and pubic hairs by the thousands every year. A household of four normal adults shed over three pounds in weight of skin flakes annually. Over 80% of the dust particles floating in the air and settling on your furniture is made up of dead skin cells. Since dust mites eat dead skin cells, our beds are like an all you can eat for free smorgasbord.

Dust mites are related to the Spider and they have eight legs, but no eyes and no antennae . Female mites lay between 40 and 80 eggs in a lifetime which lasts up to seven weeks. The good news is that they are tiny. Just a gram of dust may contain up to 5,000 mites, and an ounce of dust may host 150,000. You just cannot see them crawling about, but they are there.

How do you Control Dust Mites ?

*Pesticides are not approved for control of house dust mites because they can damage to you as much as them.

*Replace feather and down pillows with synthetic fillings.

* Enclose the mattress top and sides with a special synthetic cover.

*Vacuum your mattress thoroughly especially the base and head of the bed.

*Keep the mattress as dry as possible; dust mites like it damp, especially with sweat.

* Change and wash pillowcases, sheets, and under blankets regularly.

*Vacuum the bed base and around the covered mattress weekly.

*Wash all bedding frequently in hot water (60oC weekly). Wash curtains regularly as well.

*A dehumidifier helps because house mites need high humidity to live and grow

*Throw the bed-clothes back and open the windows wide, to have a good blow through. When you make your bed, you cover up the little critters and make them feel, well, as snug as a bug in a bed.

Where Children Sleep

* Keep toys that will accumulate dust out of the child’s bedroom

* Avoid stuffed toys

* Use only washable toys of wood, rubber, metal, or plastic

* Store toys in a closed toy box or chest

* Avoid upholstered furniture and blinds.

* Use only a wooden or metal chair that you can scrub. * Use only plain, lightweight curtains on the windows.

Good luck on getting these little creepy crawlies out of your life. The last thing you want to get in bed with are eight legged freaks.

Suicide rate on v. a. care vs. civilians

The largest and most comprehensive study on veterans who sought treatment for depression in the government’s health care system was conducted by the Department of Veterans Affairs and University of Michigan. The joint effort detailed records from more than 800,000 veterans, including troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, revealed that veterans receiving treatment for depression are no more likely to take their own lives as compared with civilian patients.

The study yielded 1,683 suicides in all, a rate of less than one-quarter of one percent — far lower than some past estimates. However, experts cautioned against applying the findings too widely, because most former servicemen and women with mental health problems do not seek treatment in the Veterans Affairs system.

Contrary to most studies of non-veterans, the risk of suicide generally goes up with age, the highest rate among those ages 18 to 44, but dropped about 20 percent for those ages 45 to 64, and then rose again after that.

Paradoxically, the research suggested that those who had symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as well as depression were at significantly lower risk of suicide than those without trauma symptoms. Veterans being treated for both conditions were 20% less likely to commit suicide than those who were treated for depression alone. People suffering from two conditions are usually considered to be at higher risk for harm than those with one.

According to the Dr. Marcia Valenstein, senior author of the team from the University of Michigan, “It may be that those being treated for PTSD have more access to services, more psychotherapy visits, just more mental health services in general.”

In addition to that, Dr. Valenstein said that the veterans being treated for post-traumatic stress disorder were more likely than the others to receive income supplements from the government to cover the disability, which could also help account for the difference.

The Veterans Affairs and Defense Departments have been investigating suicide risk closely since a study of combat troops in 2003 found high rates of suicide. In another recent study, Oregon researchers found that veterans were about twice as likely to kill themselves as were people who had not served in the military.

The American Journal of Public Health published the new analysis online which focused only on those veterans who sought treatment for depression in the government’s health care system and suggested that they might be different in some ways from others in treatment.

Mark Kaplan, a professor of community health at Portland State University in Oregon said that the s an important study and adds a lot to what we know about this population.”

In this new research study, the team evaluated records for 807,694 veterans being treated in the V. A. system from April 1999 to September 2004, which included men and women who had served in Vietnam, the Persian Gulf war, Iraq and Afghanistan. However, the researchers did not do separate analysis for each.

Moreover, the study did not evaluate the methods used in the suicides. In the Oregon study led by a community health practitioner named Dr. Mark Kaplan was published last summer. His study indicated that more than 80% of veterans’ suicides were found to have been committed with a gun compared to 55% among non-veterans.

The wonders of medicines

There are probably more medicines than there are illnesses to be cured. We all know that medicines are developed to make us feel better when we are feeling sick. However, most people don't realize that all medicines have risks as well as benefits. Medicines may cause unwanted side effects or drug interactions with food or with other medicines you may be taking.

Benefits of over-the-counter and prescription medicines must outweigh its known risk before the U. S. Food and Drug Administration approve its sale to the general public. The FDA can withdraw a medication from the market if found to cause harmful side effects. The benefits of medicines are the positive effects you get when you take them, such as lowering blood pressure, curing bacterial infection or relieving back pain. The risks of medicines are the chances that something unwanted or unexpected could happen to you when you use them. Some risks could be less serious, such as a headache, or more serious, such as liver damage. In order to reduce the risks, always follow the directions carefully when taking medicines.

Medicines are chemical substances or compounds that are used for the treatment and prevention of diseases and its symptoms. Advances in medications have enabled doctors to a find cure to many diseases and save lives.

Today's medicines come from varied sources. Some medicines have been developed from substances found in nature, such as plant extracts. But most medicines are produced and developed in laboratories using chemical mixtures, or by products of organisms, such as fungus. And a few medicines are even biologically engineered by inserting genes into bacteria that make them produce the desired substance.

Medications come in different forms, such as tablets, pills, liquids, drops, creams, gels, ointments, inhalers, patches, injectables.

Some medicines can cure an illness by killing or stopping the spread of invading germs, such as bacteria and viruses. Others are used for cancer treatments by killing cells as they divide to prevent them from multiplying. Some drugs simply replace missing substances or correct abnormally low levels of natural body chemicals such as certain hormones or vitamins. Medicines can also affect parts of the nervous system that control a particular body process.

Antibiotic is a type of medicine to fight bacterial infections like strep throat or an ear infection. These medicines help the body's immune system to fight off the infection by killing the bacteria or stopping their multiplication. Some medicines can only treat the symptoms but can't cure the illness that causes the symptoms. For example, taking a lozenge may soothe a sore throat, but it won't kill that nasty strep bacteria. There are medicines for pain relief to treat pulled muscles. They block the pathways that transmit pain signals from the injured or irritated body part to the brain to lessen the pain.

Immunizations are medical treatments that keep people from getting sick through vaccines. They contain parts or products of infectious organisms or whole germs that have been modified or killed. Vaccine helps the body's immune system to fight off infection by that germ.

Some people find it a hassle to take medicines. But these are the most effective treatments available for many illnesses. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medication to avoid further aggravating your condition. Inform your health care provider about all of the medicines and supplements you are using to avoid possible drug interactions. It is important to mention if you are pregnant or nursing to avoid harmful effects to the unborn.

The causes of obesity

With daily focus in America on weight, health and obesity, there is one question that gets ignored: what causes obesity?

There is no simple answer.

Basically, a person becomes obese when more calories are consumed than he or she can burn. This is called “calorie imbalance.” Beyond this simple definition, the factors that cause obesity are varied and many.

Calorie imbalance has many things that affect it. What causes this imbalance varies from one person to another. We also know obesity is more than just over-eating. Genetic, environmental, psychological, and other factors seem to play big roles in causing obesity.

Here are some factors that have been attributed to obesity:

1. Weight Gain During Certain Periods

A person commonly gains more weight during the following periods of life: between 12 and 18 months of age, between 12 and 16 years of age, adulthood when a person gains in excess of 60% of their ideal body weight and women, during pregnancy.

2. Genetic Factors

Heredity is linked to obesity. Studies of adopted children show that adopted children tend to have weights closer to their biological parents than to their adoptive parents.

3. Environmental Factors

Environment also strongly influences obesity. This includes lifestyle behaviors such as what a person eats and level of physical activity. The tendency to eat high-fat foods, to use labor saving devices coupled with a sedentary lifestyle are causes behind obesity.

4. Psychological Factors

Many people eat when they are stressed, bored or angry. Over time, the association between an emotion and food can become firmly fixed.

Depression and stress can also lead to obesity and are leading causes of eating disorders. Studies show most overweight people have no more psychological problems than people of average weight.

Most eating disorders can also be traced to behavioral or psychological difficulties. Up to 10 percent of people who are mildly obese and who try to lose weight on their own or through commercial weight loss programs have binge eating disorder. This disorder is even more common in people who are severely obese.

5. Age

Metabolism slows down with advancing age. As you get older you do not require as many calories to maintain your weight as you did when you were younger.

If you know about these factors you are in a better position to cope with the life cycles and manage your weight without getting into the problems of obesity.
